Alaska Public Media Hires Shelly Wozniak as Director of Radio Programming and On-Air Promotions

Former host of AK Shelly Wozniak will return to Alaska Public Media as its Director of FM Programming & On-Air Promotions.
ANCHORAGE, ALASKA—Alaska Public Media (AKPM) welcomed Shelly Wozniak back to the organization as the Director of FM Programming & On-Air Promotions. Wozniak previously worked at AKPM as the original host and co-producer of the award-winning program AK.
“Shelly brings a wealth of experience and local knowledge to Alaska Public Media. Her enthusiasm and innovative ideas will help us build a digital audio platform for the future,” said Ed Ulman, CEO/General Manager of AKPM.
Wozniak returns to radio after a decade working in professional communications and public relations in Anchorage. She most recently served as the senior director of Corporate Communications for NANA Regional Corporation (NANA) where she was responsible for the company's communication strategy and program implementation. Prior to her position at NANA, she served as the public relations manager for both NANA Development Corporation (NDC) and the Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau (now Visit Anchorage).
In her current role, Wozniak serves as the KSKA 91.1 FM local morning host and is responsible the on-air program schedule, digital audio development, and FM promotions and events. She takes over the helm of KSKA after the retirement of long-time Anchorage radio personality, Bede Trantina. Trantina retired on March 5, 2018, after 39 years of service to public radio in Alaska.
