Alaska Aviation Museum New Education Program
The Alaska Aviation Museum is launching a new slate of family and educational programs this month. All school programs and children’s admissions are free for the 2016-2017 school year, sponsored by BP.
The new family program is called Aviation Adventures and will feature different aviation-themed activities at the museum from noon until 4 pm on the third Saturday of every month between October 2016 and May 2017. Our first Aviation Adventure program will be on October 15, 2016 and is free for the whole family.
The new educational programs will kick off with an Evening for Educators on October 12, 2016 at the museum from 5:30-7:30 pm. Educators will have the opportunity to network, explore the museum, and get a sneak preview of the offered tours and guided experiences.
In addition to the field trips, the Alaska Aviation Museum has developed a science festival—a series of hands-on table top exhibits and activities designed for use by families—available for use by schools and other community organizations.
Both the field trips and science festivals are free.
The Alaska Aviation Museum opened to the public in 1988 with a mission to preserve, display, educate, and honor Alaska’s aviation heritage. By offering these new educational and family programs, we are hoping to inspire a new generation of Alaskan aviators.
