Southcentral Foundation to Host 20th Annual Gathering on Saturday


WHAT:                 Southcentral Foundation’s (SCF) 20th Annual Gathering, a community wellness fair that is free and open to the general public, features 150 exhibit booths highlighting SCF health and wellness services, community partner organizations, and Alaska Native artists. The Gathering will also host Alaska Native cultural performances and family activities.

Activities include:

·         Horse drawn carriage rides

·         Photo booth

·         Face painting

·         Door prizes

·         Nolan the Inflatable Colon

·         Fun, active kids’ games

·         Flu shot clinic

·         Free tax prep presented by Alaska Business Development Center (customers will need to bring full tax documents)

WHERE:              Egan Civic and Convention Center

WHEN:                 Saturday, Feb. 4, 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

WHY:                    The Gathering was created 20 years ago to capture the Alaska Native traditions of getting together with family and friends to visit, eat, dance and share, while recognizing and celebrating physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. The Gathering has grown into a community event with an average of 2,500 attendees and 150 informational booths representing SCF programs and community organizations and services.
