Public Health Webinar Series: Responding to Cancer Concerns in Yakutat

The State’s Section of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion continues its monthly webinar series next Tuesday, August 18. The webinar will feature David O’Brien, data analyst with the Alaska Cancer Registry, who will discuss the analysis, response and outcomes of a cancer cluster request from the community of Yakutat, Alaska.

The Section’s webinars are free and short — lasting about 20 minutes apiece, with 10 additional minutes for questions and answers and to explore ways we can all work together. The webinars will air live the third Tuesday of every month at 1 p.m.

Our next webinar begins at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 18:

Responding to Cancer Concerns in Yakutat. What happens when communities want to know if they have an increased risk of getting cancer from pollution in their environment? David O’Brien, data analyst with the Alaska Cancer Registry, discusses the analysis, response and outcomes of a cancer cluster request from the community of Yakutat.
