Providence Alaska Medical Center names new Cancer Center director

Ella Goss to lead state’s most comprehensive cancer treatment facility

ANCHORAGE, Alaska Providence Alaska Medical Center has named Ella Goss, MSN, RN, as director for the Providence Cancer Center, responsible for the entire oncology service line.

 

In this role, Goss will lead Alaska’s most comprehensive cancer treatment facility, which offers infusion and radiation therapy, available onsite from a team of specialists. Additionally, the Providence Cancer Center provides treatment plans that may also include a variety of support services such as nutrition counseling, oncology rehabilitation, navigation services, spiritual care and more.

 

After serving as a nurse in rural Alaska, Goss joined Providence in 1997 as a staff nurse in the Emergency Department at Providence Alaska Medical Center and later as a flight nurse with LifeGuard Alaska. She has served as a clinical supervisor, assistant clinical manager and clinical manager in the Emergency Department, and staff nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. Most recently she was director of Medical Staff Services, Risk and Regulatory Programs.

Goss has a bachelor of science and master of science degrees in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing, Ill. She also has certification as a professional in health care risk management and health care quality.
