Fifth Annual Midnight Sun Charity Golf Classic Raises $15,000
Midnight Sun Home Care, owned by Kevin Turkington, raised $15,000 for Hospice of Anchorage at the fifth annual Midnight Sun Charity Golf Classic held June 23rd at Settlers Bay Golf Course.
The unique event held every June takes advantage of Alaska’s seemingly non-stop daylight during summer solstice by allowing participants to golf from 7:00pm until 12:30am. More than 90 golfers enjoyed a full game of golf along with the chance to win a variety of prizes including a golf getaway at Pebble Beach Golf Course and a brand-new vehicle from Alaska Sales and Service. The event concluded with an awards banquet and breakfast prepared by The Albatross Restaurant at Settlers Bay.
“On behalf of Midnight Sun Home Care, we are really thrilled! The support of all of our sponsors and the hard work of everyone involved is what made this year’s event such a success.” said Kevin Turkington. “It’s been a pleasure to work with all the great people at Hospice of Anchorage and to support all of the important services they provide.”
Midnight Sun Home Care recognized headlining sponsors, Alaska Hearing & Tinnitus Center, Anchorage Foot & Ankle Clinic, Anchorage & Valley Radiation Centers, Alaska Management Group, Peak Health Dentistry, Keystone Chiropractic and Settlers Bay Golf Course.
Founded in 1980, Hospice of Anchorage is a non-profit community agency comprised of an interdisciplinary team – volunteers, nurses, social service coordinators, bereavement coordinators and chaplains – who provide assistance to meet the transition from life through death and to cope with loss and grief. This may be a one-time visit, periodic contact or may grow into an ongoing relationship lasting weeks or months. All services are provided free of cost. Hospice care offers people with life-limiting illness the opportunity to live fully while supporting families and other loved ones in coping with the effects and challenges of illness.
