Alaska Nurses Association to host recruiting fair at third annual conference
On October 9 at the Embassy Suites in Anchorage
The Alaska Nurses Association (AaNA) will hold its first-ever Professional and Educational Recruitment Fair this October, in conjunction with its annual Trending Topics in Nursing Conference in Anchorage. The recruitment fair will serve as a one-stop resource about nursing career opportunities in Alaska and beyond and will give nursing students and professionals a chance to meet with more than 20 schools and employers from across the state.
On Oct. 9 from 5-8 p.m. at the Embassy Suites in Anchorage, attendees will have access to education and career opportunities within Alaska and Outside.
“The Alaska Nurses Association works hard to support current and future nurses and ensure quality health care for all Alaskans,” said Andrea Nutty, AaNA conference coordinator. “Connecting nurses and employers across the state is a big part of this mission and we look forward to the opportunities this event will give to those in our industry.”
Along with learning more about institutions that offer both undergraduate and advanced levels of nursing education, attendees will have the chance to meet with hiring representatives from U.S. Army Medical Recruiting, Alaska Heart and Vascular Institute, Providence Medical Group and Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, among others.
Nursing applicants are encouraged to dress professionally and bring resumes when meeting with schools and employers.
The third annual Trending Topics in Nursing Conference: Everyday Leadership takes place October 9-10 and will focus on professional development and clinical topics including trauma-informed care and nursing leadership, while fostering professional connections among nurses with fun activities such as Nurses Night Out, a night for nurses to network in an interactive social setting.
The recruitment fair is free to attend. Nurses and students are encouraged to RSVP online for the recruitment fair to be entered to win additional door prizes. More information on the Professional and Educational Recruitment Fair can be found at www.aanaconference.org/events.
