ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – The Alaska Heart & Vascular Institute, a leading provider of cardiovascular care in Alaska, recently announced the addition of Jonathan R. McDonagh, M.D., to its team of cardiovascular physicians. Dr. McDonagh comes to the Alaska Heart & Vascular Institute after completing two fellowships with the University of Michigan’s Medical Center.

Dr. McDonagh received his undergraduate degree in chemistry and biochemistry from Middlebury College in 1995. In 2001, he earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He then completed his residency at the University of Washington in 2005. Afterward, he relocated to Alaska, where he practiced in Soldotna for five years before heading to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to complete fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology.

“It is exciting to be returning to Alaska and to have the opportunity to serve the patients of the Alaska Heart & Vascular Institute,” said Dr. McDonagh. “I’m looking forward to being able to add my unique experiences to the organization as it continues to grow and deliver superb service to our patients.”

The Alaska Heart & Vascular Institute operates six locations across the state to service the cardiovascular needs of all Alaskans.
