This year’s National Click-it-or-Ticket campaign has kicked off
The National 2017 Click-it-or-Ticket campaign began on May 15th and will continue through June 4th. APD Officers participating in this detail will be paid for by a grant from the Alaska Highway Safety Office. Motorists are reminded that they, along with their passengers, must wear a seatbelt while the vehicle is being driven.
Any person 16 years of age or older caught either driving or riding in a vehicle with either no seatbelt, or with the seatbelt not being worn properly, will be issued a citation carrying a $60 fine. Not wearing a seatbelt properly would include having the lap belt on but the shoulder strap tucked behind them. Any driver of a vehicle who has a passenger 15 years of age or younger who is not properly secured will be issued a citation carrying a $200 fine and two points on their license.
Buckle up and stay safe!!
