Free Workplace Safety Trainings Offered in Anchorage

Published:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska— June is National Safety Month, and Alaska Occupational Safety and Health (AKOSH) Consultation and Training will join thousands of organizations across the country to raise awareness about safety in the workplace and at home. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics 2014 Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries, 4,821 people – more than 13 per day – died while doing their jobs. Implementing safety measures can change these statistics. Every worker deserves to make it home safely from work.

This year, AKOSH and Alaska Training Center have partnered to sponsor two “lunch and learn” sessions on June 22 and June 29 in Anchorage. Both sessions will have hands-on drills to include: equipment selection, usage, and inspection. Participants can attend one or both session. Certificates of Awareness Training will be distributed upon course completion.
