Arbor Day grants available from Alaska Community Forest Council
(Fairbanks, AK) – The Alaska Community Forest Council is offering small grants to help celebrate Arbor Day on May 15. Grants will be in the $200-$500 range, and can be used to plant a tree or support other activities that promote Arbor Day in Alaska.
The 15-member council advises the Division of Forestry on how to develop and deliver community forestry programs to Alaskans, support education, and encourage public involvement.
The grants were made possible by funding from the Society of American Foresters (Cook Inlet and Yukon River chapters), The Alaska Society of Landscape Architects and Paul’s Tree Service of Anchorage.
Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 21. Go to http://forestry.alaska.gov/
