CVRF Completes Distribution of 2017 Winter Heating Oil Benefits
ANCHORAGE, AK – Each winter, Coastal Villages Region Fund (CVRF) provides energy assistance to families in Western Alaska through its longstanding heating oil program.
The recently completed distribution of heating oil benefits for 2017 provided 56,160 gallons of heating oil to 2,160 families to help offset the high-cost of energy across CVRF's 20 communities. Each participating family was allocated one high quality custom made plastic barrel filled with 26 gallons of heating oil.
"The heating oil provided by CVRF helps with the high cost of living in our communities," said Stella Lake of Chevak. "The assistance allows us to stretch our dollars even further, freeing up money for expenses like groceries and bills."
The program, completed on March 24, resulted in a total benefit distribution of $390,130, as authorized by the CVRF Board of Directors.
