“I am extremely happy by the number of entries and the broad variety of products entered in the Alaska Symphony of Seafood this year,” said Julie Decker, Executive Director of AFDF. “The exciting part will be to taste and evaluate the products. It is especially interesting to tally the results of the People’s Choice winners at each of our events. I wish the best of luck to all the entrants.”
Product entries will be individually evaluated by a panel of expert judges during a private judging session. Evaluations are based on the product’s packaging and presentation, overall eating/consumer experience, price and potential for commercial success. First, second, third and grand prize winners will be awarded, as well as the People’s Choice from each promotional event in Seattle, Juneau and Anchorage. In March, the first place winners will be given an opportunity to display their winning products at Seafood Expo North America in Boston.
The Seattle event, including the judging, will be held on February 10th, the Juneau Legislative Reception will be held on February 16th and the Award Ceremony in Anchorage will be held on February 19th at the Marriott Hotel.
