Spirit Of Alaska Federal Credit Union Promotes Angela Maddex to New Role

Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union (SoAFCU) and its volunteer Board of Directors announces the promotion of Angela Maddex to Vice President of Systems Strategy & Integration. In her new leadership position Maddex reports directly to the President/CEO. “I am excited to take on this new position,” says Maddex. “and for continuing to serve Spirit of Alaska and the Fairbanks community.”
Maddex has 25 years of credit union experience, all but five years with SoAFCU. In July 2016, she graduated an Xi from Western CUNA Management School. Maddex started her career in the financial industry as a teller, but quickly moved to the back-office departments such as call center, processing, ATM’s and Federal Reserve. She was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 2003, and will now focus on systems & project integration. “Fantastic employee who excels at everything she does,” said Anthony Rizk, President/CEO, SoAFCU. “We are fortunate to have the expertise that Angela provides in all areas of the credit union.”
Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union is the largest member-owned credit union in the Interior. Established in 1960 as the Greater Fairbanks Teacher’s Credit Union by four teachers, SoAFCU now operates three branches and serves approximately 10,000 members, providing banking services, mortgage lending, consumer lending and business lending products. Any person who lives, works, or worships with the Fairbanks North Star Borough is eligible to join the credit union. Employees and students of public, private and parochial schools, high schools and institutions of higher learning north of the Alaskan Range are also eligible.
