S. Lane Tucker to preside over local group of federal legal practitioners
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (February 2017) - Stoel Rives LLP is proud to announce that partner S. Lane Tucker has been elected president of the Federal Bar Association, Alaska Chapter.
Tucker is a partner of Stoel Rives LLP, with 30 years of experience in federal government contracts, Small Business Administration (SBA) matters, white collar prosecution and defense, construction and civil litigation. She represents clients throughout the United States and more than a dozen Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs), working closely with executives and in-house counsel to efficiently and effectively implement systems and achieve results that have a positive business impact for clients.
The Alaska chapter of the Federal Bar Association was formed in 2001 and has 75 members drawn from all regions of the state. The chapter was created to continue the mission of the Federal Bar Association, which is to strengthen the federal legal system and administration of justice by serving the interests and the needs of federal legal practitioners, the federal judiciary, and the public they serve.
“It’s an honor for me to take the reins of an organization that has been an important part of my professional development,” said Tucker. “I look forward to leading our officers and members as we continue to advocate for the improvement and maintenance of a robust, independent federal legal system in Alaska.”
Stoel Rives’ roots in Alaska run deep. The firm offers one of the largest legal teams in Alaska with experience in a broad array of industries. Named among Alaska Super Lawyers since 2011, Tucker also has earned praise in Chambers USA’s annual survey of America’s best attorneys for business for her government contracting and construction litigation experience. She is the Alaska section chair of the Public Contracts Section of the American Bar Association, is the Alaska representative for the ABA’s Small Business Committee, and is the founder and chair of the Alaska Bar Public Contracts Law Section. She also serves on the board of the Anchorage Association of Women Lawyers and is an Officer of the Alaska Community Foundation.
Prior to entering private practice, Tucker served as the civil chief for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Anchorage.
