ANCHORAGE—The National Federation of Independent Business/Alaska awarded its highest honor, “Guardian of Small Business,” to Rep. Charisse Millett (R-Anchorage) this month. Rep. Millett is one of only three Alaska legislators to receive the prestigious award.
“Small businesses are some of Alaska’s most critical job creators,” said Rep. Millett. “More than half of all employed Alaskans work for a small business. As a legislator I have always considered it my responsibility to craft public policy that assists the growth and success of independent businesses, and I feel incredibly honored to receive this award.”
NFIB Alaska officials praised Representative Millett’s consistent approach to protecting Alaska’s small, independent businesses in committee and during floor sessions. “Alaska small businesses have a battled-hardened, time-tested, and never-wavering friend in Rep. Charisse Millett,” said NFIB Alaska State Director Denny DeWitt. “I cannot praise her enough. She fundamentally understands that small businesses are not smaller versions of big businesses.”
NFIB is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization dedicated to representing America’s small business owners in all 50 states and Washington D.C.
