Division of Agriculture approves sale of former dairy plant in Palmer
(Palmer, AK) – The Division of Agriculture this week closed on the sale of the former Matanuska Maid bottling plant located in Palmer. The 10,000-square-foot building was owned by the state Agricultural Revolving Loan Fund and had been for sale since 2009.
“We are excited that a local company has purchased and invested in this property,” said Division of Agriculture Director Arthur Keyes. “Our goal is to promote the development of the agriculture industry in our state and this sale is an accomplishment of that.”
The sale amount was $825,000 and the proceeds will go back into the loan fund, which provides financing through moderate interest rates for purposes such as operating costs, equipment and to purchase new Alaska agricultural property.
