Alaska Permanent Capital Management promotes two executive employees
Alaska Permanent Capital Management Co. (APCM) is pleased to announce that effective July 1, William (Bill) Lierman and Brandy Niclai will be promoted to Co-Chief Investment Officer. Utilizing the unique skill set each possesses, Mr. Lierman will be in charge of Fixed Income Strategies, while Ms. Niclai will direct Multi-Asset Strategies. These changes come as Jeff Pantages, who has served as CIO at APCM since 2005, transitions to
a new role with company as an advisor.
Mr. Lierman holds a BA in Economics and Chemistry from Western Washington University; Ms. Niclai a BA in Business Administration from Washington State University and an MBA from the University of Alaska. Both hold the investment profession’s highest
designation, Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®). Ms. Niclai was the first Alaska Native woman to earn a CFA®. Together they have more than 30 years of investment experience.
On making the announcement Evan Rose, APCM Chief Executive Officer, stated he was particularly gratified that both Lierman and Niclai have each been with APCM for more than a decade. “For the future health of the firm and a continuation of the investment rigor
that has brought us thus far, we felt it was important to promote from within.” Remarking that Lierman and Niclai were both raised in Alaska, Rose added, “Our firm’s founder, my dad, Dave Rose, was committed to keeping the very brightest talent in the state. I’m very
pleased APCM is honoring this philosophy with these promotions.”
Away from APCM Ms. Niclai serves on the board of the Alaska Native Heritage Center, and Mr. Lierman coaches youth hockey and baseball and serves on the Chugiak-Eagle River Foundation board of directors. Rose believes such involvement adds a certain Alaskan perspective, which helps make APCM uniquely qualified to assist with investment needs in the state.
Both the new CIOs will continue to manage portfolios with their teams. They will also have the opportunity to continue to work with the former CIO, Mr. Pantages. He will remain with the firm on the Investment Committee, participating in investment strategy, research and writing.
“We owe Jeff a debt of gratitude for helping our corporation with the transition following our founder’s death and providing great investment leadership for 11 years,” said Mr. Rose. “We look forward to working with him in his new role as he approaches full retirement in the next year or so. We are especially grateful for his mentorship of the next generation here at APCM.”
Clients can look forward to a smooth transition and continuation of the professional stewardship and excellent service APCM provides. All are encouraged to visit www.apcm.net or call 907-272-7575 for more information.
