Stantec’s John Limb Named One of Northwest’s Top Young Professionals
Only Alaska resident on 2015 list
Anchorage-based civil engineer and aviation expert John Limb, PE, was recently selected as one of top young professionals in the Northwest by Engineering News-Record (ENR) magazine, the nation’s largest industry journal for contractors and design firms.
An associate at design firm Stantec, Limb is one of 10 professionals selected for the honor, which highlights the most accomplished construction industry professionals under the age of 40 in Alaska, Washington and Oregon. Limb is the only Alaska resident on this year’s list.
Limb, 38, is Stantec’s aviation division manager for the Pacific Northwest. He has been with the firm for more than 14 years and has provided engineering services on more than 100 airport projects. He is currently managing the runway resurfacing project at the Juneau International Airport, which has involved shifting all air traffic from the airport’s lone runway to a taxiway.
“This is well-deserved recognition for John and we are extremely proud of his efforts,” says Tim Vig, Stantec senior principal. “He is a talented engineer and a young leader in the firm. He has worked on airports all over the state – from Juneau to Unalaska to Barrow. Thousands of Alaskans benefit daily from his work.
“This award also acknowledges community service, and John is a leader in that area as well.”
The Top 10 Under 40 honorees were selected by a panel of industry professionals. The panel’s selections were based on the nominees’ demonstrated excellence and commitment to their professions and communities.
Limb is an Anchorage resident and a University of Alaska Anchorage graduate.
