Coffman Engineers Welcomes New Staff 9-14-2017


ANCHORAGE (September 14, 2017) –Coffman Engineers is pleased to announce the addition of two new employees: Brian Gastrock, P.E. has joined the civil engineering department as a Senior Civil Engineer and Joshua Shafer has joined as an Electrical Engineering Intern.

Brian Gastrock, P.E.

Gastrock is a registered Civil Engineer in Alaska with nearly two decades of professional experience working on numerous pipeline condition assessments, design, and construction management projects throughout Alaska. Gastrock completed the Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) certified by the National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) and is active in both the North American Society for Trenchless Technologies (NASTT) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Gastrock is excited to be working at Coffman Engineers and adds, “as a Senior Civil Engineer on the Coffman team I am eager to provide my experience focusing on the benefits of evaluating trenchless installation methods on new and existing infrastructure.”

Shafer received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alaska, Anchorage (UAA) and is an Alaskan Engineer in Training (EIT). Relevant course highlights from UAA include: Instrumentation and Measurement; Integrated Circuit Design; Arctic Engineering; and, Engineering Data Analysis. In addition, he is well versed in AutoCAD. Shafer states, “I am happy to develop my career as an electrical engineer at Coffman Engineers and I look forward to helping my department and expanding my expertise.” Shafer joins more than 58 Coffman employees who are raised in Alaska; 40 of whom have graduated from the University of Alaska system.
