Nick Straka, PE, has joined Stantec’s Anchorage office as a civil engineer, working in the firm’s aviation group. He has more than a dozen years of industry experience designing airports, roadways and utilities.
Straka has most recently worked in Hawaii, but is returning to Alaska, where he worked for a decade all across the state including important projects in Akutan, Anatuvuk Pass, Bethel, Homer and Skagway.
“Nick’s Alaska aviation experience adds greatly to our team,” said John Limb, PE, Stantec aviation division manager in Anchorage. “We are currently designing several critical airport projects, and Nick has a great background to augment our group.”
Since joining Stantec, Straka has focused mostly on two projects for the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and at Aniak Airport.
Straka earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering and from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He is a registered professional engineer in Alaska and Hawaii.
