Access Zoo Days Return to the Alaska Zoo on May 16 and 23
ANCHORAGE, AK—Once again, the Alaska Zoo will host Access Zoo Days on May 16 and 23, providing accommodation for guests with mobility difficulties. The Alaska Zoo will also begin its extended summer hours and start running its complimentary shuttle service on May 12.
The Alaska Zoo once again offers motorized zoo tours to guests with mobility difficulties during Access Zoo Days on May 16 and 23, from noon to 3 p.m. In partnership with the Anchorage Golf Course and AARP, these full-park tours are done four times each year to give mobility-impaired guests the opportunity to see and experience the zoo without the hassle of crowded trails or additional costs. Reservations are not required.
“At the Alaska Zoo, our goal is to continuously provide opportunities for all people in a fun and educational manner,” says Pat Lampi, executive director of the Alaska Zoo.
From May 12 to Sept. 23, the Alaska Zoo will offer its complimentary summer shuttle service, running every hour between the zoo and downtown Anchorage at the corner of 4th Avenue and F Street. From June 1 to Aug. 31, the zoo will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Complete details on upcoming Alaska Zoo events are available at www.AlaskaZoo.org.
