The Anchorage Veterans Day Parade Committee seeks entrants and financial support for the 2nd annual parade.
Anchorage, Alaska, October 17, 2016– Anchorage Veteran’s Day Parade Committee (501c3 non-profit) is calling for parade entrants and community participation at the 2nd Annual Veterans Day Parade on Saturday November 5, 2016, 11 a.m. at the Delaney Park Strip.
The Veterans Day Parade Committee was created to support our Alaskan Veterans through an annual parade event. Since Alaska has the highest per-capita veteran population; the non-profit organization, Anchorage Veterans Day Parade was formed out of a desire to honor those who have served and are serving in the armed forces.
As a military based city, Anchorage citizens are “walking the talk” to show their support of our local veterans. Examples of current entrants include Joint Forces Color Guard, high school bands and ROTC, Legion Riders, STAR the reindeer, military vehicles, and Gold Star Mothers.
We are still accepting entrants, static displays, and sponsorships. Contact Art Bell for parade entry form or to become a sponsor.
Look for committee members selling raffle tickets at New Sagaya. Raffle tickets are on sale for $10 to win 2 RT tickets anywhere Alaska Airlines flies, or dinner at Orso’s and a movie, or a $50 Visa gift card. The drawing will be on the day of the parade, November 5.
