49TH Annual Citywide Cleanup Week
April 29 through May 6, 2017
ANCHORAGE - The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to the 49th annual Citywide Cleanup Week to be held April 29 through May 6, 2017 where hundreds of volunteers unite to collect thousands of pounds of trash and dispose of it at local dumping and landfill stations.
Groups can register at CitywideCleanup.org and arrange for the number of garbage bags needed with the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce. Individuals are also invited to go to any of the Fred Meyer stores customer service counters in Anchorage and Eagle River to pick up Citywide Cleanup bags (2 per person).
“The Anchorage Chamber is again proud to host the Citywide Cleanup Week in Anchorage. The event brings our citizens together to spruce up our beautiful city in preparation of a summer filled with long days and lots of out of town visitors,” stated Bruce Bustamante, President of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce.
The Municipality of Anchorage Solid Waste Services will offer free dump days Saturday, April 29 and Saturday, May 6 at the Anchorage Regional Landfill at 1550 E Eagle River Loop Road, Eagle River, Alaska as well as at the Girdwood Transfer Station. The Anchorage Regional Landfill Central Transfer Station will be CLOSED on those Saturdays.
Our well-known, bright orange Citywide Cleanup bags can be dropped off free of charge at the Anchorage Regional Transfer Facility at 1111 E 56th Avenue, Anchorage Monday – Friday, May 1-5, 2017. DO NOT LEAVE BAGS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. PLEASE DISPOSE OF THEM YOURSELF.
