Alaska Zoo hosts spring events for all ages
Birdbrain Trivia Untamed, Kids Day at the Zoo featured this April
Anchorage, Alaska – This April, the Alaska Zoo is partnering with some local businesses to bring activities for visitors of all ages to the zoo, including Birdbrain Trivia Untamed on April 15 and Kids Day at the Zoo on April 16.
In celebration of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Birdbrain Trivia Untamed will take place from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, April 15 at the Alaska Zoo. This event, which is for the 21-and-up crowd only, is sponsored by Alaskan Brewing Co., the Lakefront Anchorage and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Division of Migratory Bird Management. Teams of up to four trivia masters and beer connoisseurs will have a chance to take home the first place prize of $500. Each team will receive a Trivia Untamed souvenir Mason jar drinking glass. Reservations are required, and more information about registration is available at the Alaska Zoo website.
Kids Day at the Zoo takes place from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, April 16. During this time, children ages 17 and under get free admission to the Alaska Zoo as part of the Anchorage’s Promise city-wide Kids Day celebration. Kids can enjoy special animal presentations, activities, keeper talks and a petting zoo. With limited parking available at the zoo, there will be complimentary shuttles continuously running to and from the Sears Mall Parking lot from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Kids Day.
“At the Alaska Zoo, we strive to provide fun and educational events for those of all ages,” said Alaska Zoo Executive Director Patrick Lampi. “We want everyone to have a reason to visit the zoo and learn about all the Arctic and sub-arctic animals who call our zoo home.”
