Waste Management Introduces New Alaska Staff

[Anchorage, AK] – Waste Management Sustainability Services is proud to announce the hiring of three experienced environmental service professionals to join its team based in its Anchorage office.

Michael Pearia

Mr. Pearia joins the Waste Management team in Alaska with over 25 years in the waste and environmental services industry including Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager, Sales Manager, and Transfer Station Manager.  He understands the dynamics between vendor partnerships, consultants, and service providers and recognizes that it is these relationships that allow businesses to prosper.  He has a proven ability to bridge the gap between sales and operations to maintain the success of projects.

As Operations Manager, Mr. Pearia is responsible for the coordination and implementation of business strategies that ensure smooth day-to-day operation.

Michael Boese

Mr. Boese is a lifelong Alaska resident with over 25 years of Environmental Consulting experience and has worked on sites throughout Alaska.  While he has managed environmental projects for several private and federal clients, most of his work experience is associated with Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) task orders administered through U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) contracts.

As someone who meets the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) requirements for a Qualified Environmental Professional under 18 AAC 78.088(b), Mr. Boese can assist clients with their sampling and reporting needs in addition to the management of their wastes.

Aidan Vasquez

Mr. Vasquez is the on-site Project Manager for the Greens Creek Mine in Juneau, Alaska, where he is responsible for the management of industrial, hazardous, non-hazardous wastes, and recyclables associated with mining operations.

Mr. Vasquez, over the course of 15 years, has led operations across varied markets which include 5 years in the environmental sustainability industry as an Environmental Specialist, Field Supervisor, and Facility Manager.  Within those years, Mr. Vasquez has developed an ability to translate the needs of customers into tangible, real-world solutions.
