SMPS Alaska Chapter Announces New Board
ANCHORAGE, ALASKA (September 18, 2017) – The SMPS Alaska Chapter is pleased to announce the appointment of its 2017-2018 Board of Directors.
Joining the SMPS Alaska Board of Directors this year is Pearl-Grace Pantaleone, and Christine White, Monica Bradbury, Sarah Hall, Alyssa Golden, Michelle Laudert, Rose Hanson, Rob Culbertson, Kate Hostetler, Katy Kless, and Cynthia Oistad are returning in new positions. The Board of Directors includes the following architectural/engineering/construction (A/E/C) marketing professionals:
Christine White, CPSM sits on the SMPS board as Past President. Christine is the Senior Marketing Coordinator at R&M Consultants. She has been a part of the A/E/C industry for five years, four of which she has served on the SMPS Alaska Chapter Board of Directors as Communications Director, Programs Director, Scholarship Director, President-Elect, and President. She was raised on a hay farm in Kenai, Alaska.
Monica Bradbury, Marketing Manager at DOWL, will serve as this year’s President. Monica has been in the industry for nine years, and has been a part of SMPS Alaska for four of those years. In the past, Monica has taken on board positions including President-Elect, Communications Director, and serving on the Mentorship Committee. Monica is third of eight children, and is excited to work with the members of this year’s lineup.
Sarah Hall was appointed President-Elect. Sarah, a Marketing Coordinator at R&M Consultants, has been in the industry for over nine years. She became a member of the SMPS Alaska Chapter in 2012 and since then has been Membership Director, Sponsorship Director, Education Director, and most recently the Communications Director. Earlier this month, Sarah’s coed softball team won the Labor Day Softball Tournament in Dawson City, Canada; she brings spunk and energy into the SMPS board.
Alyssa Golden, Administrative Officer and Marketing Coordinator at Bettisworth North, continues in her second year as Secretary. She has been involved in the industry for three years, and the chapter for two years. She first started off as a member and then transitioned into the secretary in 2016. Alyssa and her husband just welcomed their first child into the world in August 2017.
Michelle Laudert, the Marketing Director at AMC Engineers, is this year’s treasurer. Having been in the industry for five years, Michelle joined the Chapter in 2014 and soon became the Assistant Treasurer. She is currently studying to receive her CPSM credentials in the Chapter study group. Michelle is a life-long Alaskan who grew up on snow machines and four wheelers.
Pearl-Grace Pantaleone, Marketing Coordinator for RIM, was appointed Communications Director. After serving on the Communications Committee in charge of the website and photography for three years, she was promoted to Director. Pearl-Grace has been a part of the industry and SMPS Alaska Chapter for three years. Before joining the industry, she was an on-air reporter for FOX/ABC on Channel 4 and 13 in Anchorage.
Rose Hanson, Communications Specialist at CRW Engineering Group, LLC, will serve as the Chapter Programs Director, helping to create the monthly luncheons and various activities for the organization. New to the industry, Rose has two years under her belt and has also been a part of SMPS Alaska Chapter for just as long. In 2016, Rose served as the Board’s first Outreach Director, helping develop and solidify the Outreach program. During the summers, she teaches voice, band, and guitar classes at a week-long local music camp.
Rob Culbertson is currently the Marketing Director for Architects Alaska, and is seated on the SMPS Board as the Education Director for the second year in a row. He is a seasoned A/E/C marketer, having been involved in this industry for over 16 years. He has volunteered five of those years to the Alaska Chapter, and was the Sponsorship Director in 2015. In addition to his marketing skills, Rob is an award-winning LEGO Designer.
Kate Hostetler, Marketing Manager at Coffman Engineers is this year’s new Sponsorship Director. With 17 years of experience in the industry, she has been a part of SMPS for five and previously served as the Programs Director and Membership Director for the Alaska Chapter. Kate was born and raised in Alaska, and is an avid hunter, fisherman, and skier.
Katy Kless, Communications & Marketing Specialist at PDC Engineers, is the Membership Director. Katy has been involved in the industry for five years and has been involved with the Alaska Chapter since its inception, helping the Chapter grow into what it is today. In the past, she has held the following board seats: Education Director and Treasurer, and Pacific Regional Conference Delegate. She is resilient, driven, chases after what she wants, and is a great asset to the board.
Cynthia Oistad, Alaska Business Development and Communications at Arcadis, has been a part of the A/E/C industry for over 14 years and joined the Chapter in 2013. Previously, she served as the SMPS Alaska Mentorship Director in 2015 and Sponsorship Director in 2016. Cynthia has been living in Alaska for 34 years, married her high school sweetheart, and is now raising her kids in their hometown.
