Anchorage South Addition Neighborhood Plan Public Kick-Off Workshop
Growth and development going forward
On September 22nd the South Addition Community Council is sponsoring a Neighborhood Plan Kick-Off Workshop at Inlet View Elementary School from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
The Public Kick-Off Workshop will begin a conversation with residents and stakeholders to gather the information necessary to create a Neighborhood Plan for South Addition. Moderated by respected local planner Sheila Selkregg, the goal is to collect a wide variety of input from community residents and property owners to create a vision for South Addition’s future.
The gathered, information will be used to create a Neighborhood Plan tailored to how the residents want growth and development to go forward in South Addition. The Municipality will consult the Neighborhood Plan in making decisions that affect the density and character of residential and commercial development, zoning, infrastructure, roads and transit needs, and recreational areas in South Addition.
After the Kick-Off Workshop, follow-up public meetings, surveys, discussions and focus groups will gather more information. As the Plan is being developed drafts of it will be made public for review and comment. Upon completion, the Neighborhood Plan will be go before the Anchorage Assembly for approval. The approved Plan will supplement the Municipality’s Anchorage Bowl Land Use Plan Map and the 2020 Comprehensive Plan.
