Klassen Named External Affairs Associate
Based in North Star Group DC Arctic Policy office
Washington, DC, March 11, 2016 – The North Star Group is pleased to announce the promotion of Meghan Klassen to External Affairs Associate.
The North Star Group (NSG) provides strategic advice, advocacy and research for communities, governments, businesses, and organizations in the United States and abroad. With team members located in Alaska and Washington, DC—and a presence in Canada—NSG has the expertise and collaborative skill for developing strategies, building relationships, finding mutual interests, and navigating complex national and international governance systems, while achieving client goals.
Ms. Klassen joined NSG’s DC office in 2015 as an Arctic Policy Intern after completing her undergraduate education at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada in economics and environment. Ms. Klassen’s duties now include client relations, business development, and congressional monitoring.
Ms. Klassen also became the lead writer for The Arctic Report after Mercedes Birdsall returned to work with the Alaska State Legislature. The report is published semi-monthly by NSG and features analysis and thorough coverage of Arctic policy-related events in Washington, DC.
Veronica Slajer, Founder and President of the North Star Group, is confident Meghan will continue her excellent work in this new capacity, and noted that while NSG is stepping out of its normal all-Alaska team model, Canada is close enough!
