When you think of AARP you might think of senior citizens. While it may be true that AARP Alaska is for those over age 50, the group is interested in providing outdoor safety workshops for all ages.

AARP will be supporting two full-day winter safety workshops in December that are geared toward a wide audience. If you are new to the backcountry or want to brush up on your terrain management and companion rescue skills, this workshop is for you.

Designed for all Snow Riders and travelers, from snowmachiners to snowshoers, the course will include two-hour classroom training and two-to- four-hour field work.

The cost is free for all AAIC Forecast Center Members. Join today at registration and support your local forecast center for just $25.

Please note: Under age-16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

December 19, 2015 – 11 am to 4 pm – Government Peak Rec. Center Hatcher Pass, Palmer
