Speakers Update:

Joining a growing roster of speakers for Arctic Ambitions V, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Syun-Ichi Akasofu will make a presentation on October 4 at the conference. Dr. Akasofu is the founding director of the International Arctic Research Center (IARC)  and Professor of Physics Emeritus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF)

Dr. Akasofu is a world-renowned scientist and has a wide research interest including Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) and climate change; he predicted, notably, that global warming would halt around the year 2000. He was mentioned as one of the "1000 most cited contemporary scientists". Dr. Akasofu received numerous awards for his work and, upon his retirement in 2007, the University of Alaska Board of Regents officially named the building in which IARC is housed the "Syun-Ichi Akasofu Building".

Sponsor Update:

We would like to recognize and thank our newest sponsor: Sumitomo Metal Mining Pogo LLC.

Sumitomo sponsored five University of Alaska Fairbanks students to attend Arctic Ambitions V Conference & Trade Show

There is still time for your company to join our growing roster of sponsors who are communicating their experience and expertise in conducting Arctic business through their support of this unique annual event focused squarely on "the business of the Arctic."
