UIC Foundation Announces New Hiring of Program Manager
Carol Murphrey responsible for the management of fundraising efforts and scholarships
Carol Agnigalak Murphrey has joined the UIC Foundation as its program manager. Carol will be responsible for the management of fundraising efforts, scholarships, and connecting UIC scholarship recipients and alumni to the foundation.
Carol grew up in Atqasuk, Alaska, and currently resides in Fairbanks. She is the daughter of Elizabeth and the late Jerry Hollingsworth, she is the granddaughter of the late Henry and Evelyn Nashaknik. She has been a recipient of the UIC Foundation and is honored to be able to give back to the foundation in this capacity.
Carol has worked with the University Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) for the past 18 years in student services. Most recently she was an academic advisor for UAF’s Rural Student Services where she helped students transition from rural Alaska to the university, specializing in comprehensive advising, recruitment and financial aid. Carol earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in rural development from UAF. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children camping and exploring Alaska.

The UIC Foundation is a non-profit organization with the mission of improving the lives of the Iñupiat by helping UIC shareholders and their descendants reach their educational goals through scholarship funding. The UIC Foundation provides scholarships to eligible students attending college or vocational school full-or part-time, and assists with costs related to educational expenses.
