Salmonfest: 3 days of fish, love, and music is this weekend!
Salmonfest, Alaska’s biggest festival weekend, offers over 60 bands and a whole lot more. Join us August 4-6th at the Kenai Peninsula Fairgrounds in Ninilchik for Salmonfest 2017. We invite you to come enjoy Jewel, Rusted Root, Railroad Earth, Rising Appalachia, The California Honeydrops, and Pimps of Joytime just to name a few.
Now a long-standing tradition for many, the festival wants to remind everyone to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and everything else you need to enjoy yourself for a day or weekend outside. Bring plenty of layers because no music fan lets Alaska's iconic changing weather stop them from dancing. Feel free to bring a phone charger and recharge at one of our charging stations, so you can capture all the fun.
With Salmonfest, we wish to emphasize and celebrate the connection of all Alaskans to the fish and the waters that provide this magnificent resource. We urge everyone from all over the state, and entire country, to come together for this Salmonfest weekend and find camaraderie in the issues that unite us and put aside the things that divide us. Together, let’s continue to move forward and celebrate wild Alaska in a weekend of Fish, Love, and Music!
Salmonfest is supported by and benefits The Kachemak Bay Conservation Society with support from Cook Inletkeeper. KBCS is a longstanding Homer-based non-profit organization that seeks to educate the public and both protect and promote Alaska’s fish-filled waters.
