Treadwell Certifies Ballot Measure 1 Results

September 3, 2014, Anchorage, AK – Lt. Governor Mead Treadwell certified the election results for ballot measure 1, a referendum to repeal Senate Bill 21 (SB 21), passed during the legislative session that adjourned April 14, 2013.

The ballot measure was rejected during the Aug. 19 primary election by a vote of 99,855 no to 89,608 yes. The measure would have repealed SB 21, an “Act relating to the Oil and Gas Production Tax, Interest Rates on Overdue Taxes, and Tax Credits,” also known as the More Alaska Production Act.

Final results of the primary election races for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Governor, Lt. Governor, and state legislators have been published on the Division of Elections website: http://www.elections.alaska.gov/results/14PRIM/.
