September 16, 2014 - Becky Hultberg has taken on the role of President/CEO of the Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association. Ms. Hultberg replaces Karen Perdue who retired after four years as President/CEO.
The Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association represents the interests of health care facilities from Ketchikan to Barrow and recently celebrated its 60th Anniversary. It has offices in Juneau and Anchorage.
Hultberg, 40, joined ASHNHA in January as Senior Vice President after stepping down as Commissioner of the Department of Administration for Governor Sean Parnell, where she oversaw the state's active employee and retiree health plans. She previously served as special assistant and press secretary for Governor Frank Murkowski, as a staff assistant for the Alaska Congressional Delegation (Senator Frank Murkowski, Senator Ted Stevens and Congressman Don Young) and as regional director of communications and marketing for Providence Health & Services Alaska.
Chair of the ASHNHA Board Dr. Andrew Mayo said the Board is pleased with the successful transition between the previous and current CEO. “All our members appreciate their commitment to hospital and nursing homes in Alaska and the patients we serve. We are excited for Ms. Hultberg’s leadership and look forward to navigating these interesting times of change in health care.”
