Alaska’s leading spine clinic opens Matanuska Valley office
Matanuska Valley patients with severe back pain can now rely on the expertise and experience of Dr. Maxwell, the new neurosurgeon dedicated to serving the Valley. Founder and chief neurosurgeon for Arctic Spine, Dr. Maxwell is committed to treating neck and back pain through conservative, minimally invasive and state-of-the-art procedures.
Dr. Maxwell studied at Cambridge University, Oxford University and Harvard Medical School, and brings more than two decades of experience in the field of neurosurgery to the Valley. He specializes in treating spine conditions such as chronic neck or back pain; bulging, collapsed or degenerative discs; sciatica; failed back surgeries; arthritis of the spine; and lumbar spinal stenosis. He also manages the entire spectrum of cranial conditions such as brain tumors and skull fractures. His unique and holistic approach incorporates minimally invasive and innovative therapies that are tailored to each patient.
Unlike traditional neurosurgical clinics that rely solely on invasive procedures and medical interventions, Dr. Maxwell allies with local chiropractors, acupuncturists, physical therapists, physiatrists and massage therapists to manage pain relief, enhance recovery and supplement procedures both pre- and post-operative.
Dr. Maxwell is board certified with the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is the sole expert reviewing neurosurgeon to the Board of Medicine for the state of Alaska. Dr. Maxwell will be in the Wasilla office at the Wasilla Surgery Center, 3035 E. Palmer-Wasilla Hwy., Suite 501, every Monday and by appointment.
