Voting Has Begun! Alliance Board elections 2013/2014
Below please find the slate of candidates for the 2013/2014 Alliance Board elections.
Eligible members (those who are current on their dues) may vote in person at the Annual Meeting or via absentee ballot. An absentee ballot may be obtained by emailing Renee Limoge Reeve at email@example.com. Only those ballots with a signature and company name will be counted. Each eligible organization or individual member, according to the organizational bylaws, is allowed one vote.
Election results will be announced at the Annual Meeting on October 11th at the Anchorage Marriott Hotel.

Darci Ahlin-Stieren — Darci is an experienced human resource consultant who has owned HR Solutions, Inc since 2009. She began her HR career working for Placer Dome’s Donlin Creek Project, now Barrick Gold. In 1999, she was recruited to join BP Alaska Exploration’s HR Department. In 2011, Darci was recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 and is active on various boards including Anchorage Society of Human Resource Management and Covenant House. She lives in Anchorage with her husband and two children.
Bill Cessnun — Bill is Senior Business Relationship Manager at Wells Fargo Commercial Banking Group in Anchorage. Bill actively partners with both Wells Fargo’s Energy Capital Group and the Oil & Gas Explorations and Production Lending Division. He has over 25 years of commercial banking and wealth management experience in Alaska and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in finance and economics from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Bill understands the importance of the oil industry and is committed to seeing Alaska’s vital industry grow.
Reed Christensen (Incumbent) — Reed moved to Alaska in 1994 as an auditor with Deloitte & Touche, LLP. Soon after he met Ed Clinton and Lynn Johnson with Dowland-Bach Corp., where he started as controller for both Dowland-Bach and Alaska Valve & Fitting Company. In 1997, Reed became the General Manager of Dowland-Bach. Reed currently serves on the Alliance Board of Directors.
Lori Davey—Lori was raised in Tok, AK and received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from UAA. Her professional career includes pharmaceutical sales, business services for Xerox Corporation and owning and operating Motznik Information Services before becoming Director of Business Development for Fairweather, LLC in 2012. Lori is a recipient of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce Top 40 Under 40 award and serves her community through numerous boards and committees including Anchorage Rotary, and the UAA Alumni Association.
Bob Dickson (Incumbent) — Bob has been a member of Atkinson, Conway & Gagnon since 1972. His practice concentrates in the area of construction litigation and health care, medical malpractice defense, and liability defense. Bob has authored numerous publications on Alaska construction law, and has represented a wide variety of clients on numerous construction claims. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America continuously since 1995, and is currently a director of the Alliance.
Jeff Landfield — Raised in New Mexico, Jeff moved to Alaska and attended the University of Alaska Anchorage where he earned his degree. Jeff has worked in the technology industry since 2010, first for Tex R Us and now for Network Business Systems—both Alliance member companies. He is a member of the Resource Development Council and currently serves as President of the Taku/Campbell Community Council. Jeff had a primary bid for the Alaska State Senate in 2012.
Matt Melton (Incumbent) — Matt joined Chadux in July 2013 as General Manager. Previously, he was with Pacific Environmental Corporation. Matt is a lifelong Alaskan with considerable experience in the tourism, environmental and oil and gas industries. He holds a BA in Environmental Studies and a MS in Organizational Management, both from New England College. Matt currently serves on the Board of the Alliance.
Pattey Parker — Pattey is a 4th generation Alaskan who grew up in Soldotna. Her father’s role as one of Alaska’s first four Alaska Pipeline Commissioners taught her an appreciation and understanding of the link between the success of the oil and gas industry and the future prosperity of our state. She has worked for Baker Hughes for the past 2 1/2 years and regularly attends Alliance, RDC and Anchorage Chamber events related to the oil and gas industry. Pattey is a member of the Downtown Rotary and serves on the Board of Directors of the Petroleum Club of Anchorage and Alaska Resource Education. Lee Petersen — Lee has spent his career in the service industry in Fairbanks, AK. He began in sales of petroleum products through a chain of gas station convenience stores before becoming Operations Manager for Sourdough Express in Fairbanks. He also served as Operations Manager for Big State Logistics prior to his current position as General Manager of Fairbanks Fuel Distributors where he supplies fuel oil and gasoline to interior Alaska.
Scott Stewart (Incumbent) — Scott is President and co-founder of Arctic Controls, Inc., which was established in 1985 and is a major supplier to municipal markets and the mining, power, and oil and gas industries. He has served as the President of the Petroleum Club of Anchorage and has been a member of the club for more than 26 years. Scott has also been a member of the Alliance for the past 23 years and currently serves on the board. He also serves on the board of the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra.
Maria Talasz — Maria has worked in marketing and communications for over 20 years. She moved to Alaska in 2001 and was first involved in shaping the marketing of remote sensing technologies and mapping products for the oil, gas and mining industries at AeroMetric. As a consultant she has worked for clients including the City of Valdez, Pizza Hut, IT Expo Alaska and Carr Gottstein Properties. Currently employed at USKH Inc. for the past 10 years, Maria serves on the board of the Society of Military Engineers and volunteers her design and marketing skills to Alaska Resource Education. Maria owns two businesses.
Patrick Walsh — Patrick is Senior Vice President for Peak Oilfield Service Company. He is responsible for all North Slope Operations. He began work with Peak in 1998 as a Project Engineer/Manager on multiple ice road projects. Patrick began his career with 10 years at the Department of Transportation focusing on constructing airports, roads and maintenance facilities. Born and raised in Nome, Patrick has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. His grandfather was a delegate to the first Alaska Constitutional Convention and Patrick previously served on the Alliance Board.
Frank Weiss — Frank is the Vice President and General Manager of Engineering for ASRC Energy Services. He has a 35 year career with experience in engineering, construction coordination, project management and field operations. He has worked in oil and gas production, pipelines, refining and finished product storage and distribution. After graduation from the University of Wyoming, Frank held positions with Gulf Oil Exploration, Tenneco Oil Exploration and Production and Anvil Corporation. He relocated to Alaska in 1988 and prior to joining AES served as President and General Manager of Alaska Anvil. He is a member of the Advisory Board of UAF College of Engineering and Mines. Frank is a former member of the Alliance Board.
