Society for Marketing Professional Services Alaska Chapter Receives National Striving for Excellence Award for Medium-Sized Chapter
In its second year, the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Alaska Chapter receives high honors for excellence in management and service to members.
ANCHORAGE, ALASKA (September 24, 2013) – The SMPS Alaska Chapter was recognized as the winner of the 2013 Striving for Excellence (SFE) Award for Outstanding, Medium Chapter during the SMPS Awards Gala in Orlando on August 1, held in conjunction with the annual SMPS Build Business Conference.
The SMPS Alaska Chapter has 53 members and represents various A/E/C companies across the state. The purpose of the chapter is to “promote the professional and educational advancement of persons engaged in marketing professional services to the built and national environment.”
The Striving for Excellence (SFE) Awards recognize chapters for excellence in their management and service to members. The SFE objectives emphasize a chapter’s:
- program/education goals
- chapter leadership/management
- membership growth and retention
- financial health
Juror’s comments included: “SFE [submission] was done very well. Clear, visually pleasing and easy to read/understand. Alaska is doing a great job with the Chapter and is one other chapters should go to for fresh advice.”
