Sen. McGuire to Facilitate Round-Table Discussion with Halibut Charter Industry
Meeting will focus on building a consensus around management measures and broader concepts
Anchorage — At the request of the industry, Senator Lesil McGuire (R-Anchorage) will facilitate a roundtable discussion with members of the halibut charter industry and invited members of the Alaska State Legislature, Monday, September 30, to open the dialogue on recommendations for management measures.
“I am pleased to be given the opportunity to host members of the halibut charter industry,” said Sen. McGuire. “This round-table discussion will provide a forum for charter operators to offer suggestions or recommendations for the 2014 management measures.”
The intent of the meeting will not be to formally endorse any specific management measures, but to begin developing ideas going forward.
