FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Tracy Vanairsdale, managing partner of Bettisworth North Architects and Planners Inc., joined 24 other local leaders in graduating this summer from the Leadership Fairbanks Program sponsored by the Great Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce (http://fairbankschamber.org/leadership-fairbanks/). The 8-month program is designed to strengthen local community members’ leadership skills through theory, networking, and mentoring. Vanairsdale’s class included senior managers as well as newly emerging leaders from public agencies, non-profit organizations, the financial sector and other private companies.
Classes, such as Trust & Integrity, Accountability & Recognition, and Passion & Productivity, emphasized critical aspects of leadership. Vanairsdale says as managing principal architect at Bettisworth North, she will always strive to build new leadership skills. "Through Leadership Fairbanks, I will remain engaged with other community leaders and embrace my strengths and weaknesses, achievements and mistakes.” The biggest takeaway from the program for Vanairsdale was “Communicating your passion and enthusiasm is contagious to others and a key ingredient of great leadership”.
