Frequent Fliers Can Earn More with Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan™ Shopping

SEATTLE — Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members can now earn miles for retail purchases through the airline's new Mileage Plan Shopping program.

The program enables members to earn up to 12 frequent flier miles for every dollar spent when they shop at more than 800 participating online retailers, including Magazines.com, Nordstrom, Home Depot, Macy's and Sephora. Shoppers also can earn miles when they purchase gift cards from a host of retailers, including Coldwater Creek and Lands' End, and take advantage of special offers such as dollars-off and free shipping. "Mileage Plan Shopping is another way we're giving more mileage earning opportunities and special offers to our members," said Caroline Boren, Alaska Airlines' managing director of loyalty marketing and customer advocacy. "We hope our members take advantage of this easy opportunity to register and earn miles on their purchases from a long list of national retailers."

Consumers can access the program at http://www.mileageplanshopping.com , then choose from a host of retailers and complete their purchases via the retailer's website. Miles will then be automatically credited to their Mileage Plan account. To participate, consumers must be existing Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members or register for a free account at http://www.mileageplanshopping.com .

Mileage Plan Shoppers can earn up to 12 miles per dollar spent, depending on the retailer.

First-time users will automatically earn 250 miles for opting in to Mileage Plan Shopping and another 500 miles after making their first purchase of $25 or more. Non-Mileage Plan members can join on the site and receive signup bonus miles. And shoppers can earn even more miles on purchases by using the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature® card.
