Power Restored to 100 ML&P Customers Affected in Outage Last Night
ANCHORAGE, AK – Sept. 19, 2012 – Power was restored to approximately 100 Municipal Light & Power electric customers by 1 a.m. this morning. The two outages began last night as another severe wind storm passed through Anchorage, causing trees to tangle with power lines.
ML&P had two crews working the outages last night. Tree removal took several hours before power could be safely restored to the neighborhoods south of Providence Medical Center, as well as the area east of MacInnes Street and south of 36th Avenue.
Customers are asked to report power outages or downed lines by calling ML&P’s Power Outage Hotline at 279-7671.
ML&P’s automated phone system recognizes a customer’s phone number associated with his or her account and automatically displays the address to its Dispatch Center when calls are placed. The Dispatch Center is staffed 24/7. Customers using phone numbers not associated with their account are asked to input that information.
Customers may update their account information anytime on ML&P’s secure Customer Service portal at https://billing.mlandp.com/oscp. They may also call Customer Service at 263-5340 weekdays from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., or email askMLP@muni.org.
