Kendall Auto Group and Ford Motor Company team up to fundraise for area high schools by getting community members behind the wheel
Wasilla, Alaska—Across Alaska, arts, music and sports programs are being perennially cut due to growing budgetary constraints. Today’s youth are missing valuable opportunities to expand their knowledge and diversify their interests, as well as the chance to have a little fun! Kendall wants to keep these opportunities available for our local students.
For every person who takes the wheel and test-drives a new vehicle at Kendall Ford of Wasilla on September 22, Kendall Auto Group and Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Wasilla High School or Palmer High School as part of the Drive One 4 UR School program.
The schools will also be taking canned food donations at the event. Whichever school receives more donations in weight will be rewarded with an additional $1 per pound of food donated.
“We know funding school programs is difficult in today’s economy and we want to do our part to help make sure they remain available,” said Dana Applebee, Marketing Manager. “We’re also excited to generate some food donations, and give the schools even more money.”
The event, which will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. will feature Ford’s innovative lineup of cars, trucks, SUVs and hybrids. Kendall staff will be on site to assist and provide additional information about each vehicle available at the event.
