Julie Beeler Lecture this Wednesday at the Museum

AIGA Alaska presents Julie Beeler on “Design for Wonder”
Wednesday, October 3, 2012, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Anchorage Museum Auditorium, 7th Ave entrance

Julie Beeler, a member of AIGA Portland, and co-founder of Second Story, will present her lecture, "Design for Wonder." Second Story has focused on contributing to the evolution of the craft of interactive storytelling through the creation of hundreds of memorable media experiences. The studio’s diverse team of strategists, storytellers, producers, designers, and engineers has created powerful interfaces for clients such as Sesame Workshop, Coca-Cola and the Portland Art Museum.

Beeler will discuss the evolution of interaction and its expansion: audiences crave ever-greater control and personalization over information, content, and experiences. The line between the digital and physical worlds is blurring, and designers are giving definition and new forms to this blur. Beeler’s presentation will look at how new forms of storytelling, narrative, and context can be designed to engage, inspire, educate, entertain, and enchant audiences.

Admission is available online and at the door. Members $10; nonmembers $20; student members $5 and student nonmembers $15.
