Historic Preservation Fund grant period opens for local governments

(Anchorage, AK) - The Alaska Office of History and Archaeology is accepting grant applications for 2011 historic preservation projects from Certified Local Governments.   The HPF program provides up to 60% matching assistance for the cost of a project.  The Alaska Historical Commission encourages applications for projects in the $10,000 to $20,000 federal share range.  Projects eligible for HPF assistance include historic preservation planning, inventory, survey, National Register nomination, public preservation education, predevelopment, development, and acquisition.
