Bloomberg Businessweek Announces Partnership with The DO Lectures USA Six Bloomberg Scholarship Winners Announced
Bloomberg Businessweek, a global source of business news that provides leaders with the insights and perspectives they need to thrive in the business world, has partnered with The DO Lectures USA, a unique gathering of progressive business leaders and social contributors united by a mission to impact the way business is conducted. The partnership will help illustrate the experience of DO and expose attendees to innovative, out-of-the-box thinking that has the potential to inspire change. To launch the partnership and celebrate the first time The DO Lectures are being held in the United States, Bloomberg Businessweek announced the winners of the inaugural class of DO Lectures Scholarship recipients, each of whom will be sent to the lectures at Campovida in Hopland, CA, September 22-25. The Do Lectures are the vision of Clare and David Hieatt and began five years ago in the countryside of Wales, with the idea that people who do amazing things can inspire others to do amazing things, too. The six scholarship recipients were carefully selected by Bloomberg Businessweek, based on their innovative work in their field and their commitment to sharing their success and thought leadership with the global community and those in need. The recipients are:
- Mara Abrams, Director of Business Development, The Tiziano Project, Los Angeles, CA - http://tizianoproject.org/
- Matthew Abrams, Founder, The Mycelium School, Bridgeport, CT - http://www.myceliumschool.org/

"There is a new business culture emerging and with that, a new type of business leader that is no longer content simply to be informed and passive," said Elena Putilina, Director of Marketing for Bloomberg Businessweek. "The DO Lectures USA provides these leaders exposure to valuable conversations, inspiring them explore new paradigms and apply them to their already successful business ventures."
"In a world where the voices of cynicism and judgment tend to dominate our landscape, we focus on the DO," said Duke Stump, Curator of The DO Lectures USA. "The DO Lectures is neither a convention nor an event, it's an experience. It's a place to be present and connect with an amazing collection of people and ideas and to share a new sense of possibility for a global business community."
