2011 Policy Forum: Registration Open

The 2011 Alaska Chamber Legislative Policy Forum is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, October 25 - 26, in Anchorage, Alaska at the Hotel Captain Cook. The Legislative Policy Forum, formerly called the "Legislative Tie In", is arguably the most important annual Alaska Chamber event.

The Legislative Policy Forum is where Alaska Chamber members gather to decide on its policy priorities for the following year. Members and non-members are encouraged to attend, but only members have a say in advancing policy priorities. To join the Alaska Chamber now, click here, or call Alaska Chamber Staff at 907-278-2722.

Alaska Business Report Card - Midterm Grades

The Alaska Business Report Card Midterm Grade Luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25, at the Egan Center, in Anchorage, Alaska. The Alaska Business Report Card group is made up of the Alaska Chamber, the Alaska Support Industry Alliance, the Resource Development Council and Prosperity Alaska. You will not want to miss this luncheon where midterm grades for the Alaska Legislature and the Governor will be released and Champions for Alaska's Future will be recognized.

For your convenience, you may register for the Legislative Policy Forum and the Alaska Business Report Card Luncheon at the same time. Or, if you prefer to have lunch on your own, you may simply register for the Legislative Policy Forum.  To register for the 2011 Legislative Policy Forum now, click here.

52nd Annual Fall Conference: Sold Out!

The 52nd Annual Fall Conference and Business Trade Show is scheduled for September 19-21 at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge in Talkeetna, Alaska. We are sold out and are no longer taking online registrations. To be placed on the wait list, please call 907.278.2722. Juneau Update

Last week Rachael Petro and Andy Rogers visited the Alaska Chamber Juneau Office and reconnected with many of our Southeast members. We appreciate having had the opportunity to meet with each and every one of you and look forward to your participation in future Chamber events. Additionally, we had a great visit with former Alaska Chamber President/CEO Wayne Stevens, now Executive Director of United Way Juneau. It was wonderful to see you all!

The most frequently asked question asked by members and non members alike is about the Chamber Juneau office. The Alaska Chamber has maintained an office in Juneau since its inception in 1952 and that will not change. However, in an effort to secure the long term viability of the organization and wisely use member contributed resources, the Juneau office will be downsized. Ideally, the Alaska Chamber will co-locate with the Juneau Chamber of Commerce. The goal is to relocate the Juneau office by the end of the year in time for a busy 2012 legislative session.

We will be in Juneau more and more as session approaches and as we work to move the Juneau office. We're excited and looking forward to the prospect of sharing space with our friends at the Juneau Chamber. All pending a successful office hunt, of course.

We look forward to our next visit and to seeing everyone at the (SOLD OUT!!!) 52nd Annual Fall Conference & Tradeshow in Talkeetna.

Top 49ers Luncheon

Please join Alaska Business Monthly's President Jim Martin and staff, the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Rachael Petro, Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan, The Growth Company's President Lynne Curry, Ph.D, and other dignitaries for this year's Top 49ers Luncheon Celebration on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at the Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center in the Tikhatnu Ballroom.
