AEDC Names Emily Bolling Communications Coordinator
Anchorage Economic Development Corporation named Emily Bolling as communications coordinator for the organization. Bolling will be responsible for all communications of AEDC, including oversight of its marketing, public relations, external communications, social media and online presence.
“We are excited to have Emily on board, her experience working with the downtown business community and her knowledge of marketing will bring a new energy to AEDC,” said Bill Popp, president and CEO of AEDC.
Previous to AEDC, Bolling was the marketing director at Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Ltd. She worked closely with the downtown business community to market events and promotions to Anchorage residents. She developed and marketed a dining program called “100 Days of Downtown Dining” to help kick start the restaurant industry during the off season. Bolling was also a forerunner to last year’s successful Halloween event, Trick or Treat Street, which offered free trick-or-treating for Anchorage youth.
Bolling studied advertising at the New York Institute of Technology, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. After graduation, she interned at advertising agency McCann Erickson as an art director, working on national accounts Verizon Wireless, Weight Watchers, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal and others. She also was an associate instructor at the NYIT campus in Nanjing, China where she assisted in teaching English and Communications to Chinese students.
