Report on Community Budget Dialogues Set to Be ReleasedMore than 350 Anchorage residents came together in July for a series of community discussions about the the Municipality's spending, revenue, and the services it provides. While there was a wide variety of opinions expressed, nearly all agreed the sessions were informative and a great opportunity to share ideas about the kind of community we want in the future.
It was especially important to me as I gained insight into what citizens think about the choices and trade-offs involved as I work on next year's budget, which is due to the Assembly on October 1st.
The professionals that designed and facilitated the dialogues are just about finished with the final report. A special presentation is scheduled for September 15 (details below). The report will bring together the information collected at all four sessions and give insight into what your friends and neighbors thought about the options discussed and their recommendations on how to create the long-term certainty we all want for Anchorage .
I hope you can join us for the final report's roll-out: Wednesday, September 15
Mayor's Conference Room - 8th floor City Hall Thank you for your interest in the future of our community. By working together, Anchorage will be an even better place for all of us.
Mayor Dan Sullivan
P.S. Should you be unable to join us, the report also will be posted next week online at www.muni.org.
