Lawsuit Filed; Calista President on Leave
Calista Corporation’s Board of Directors acted to place Matthew Nicolai, President and CEO, on leave to allow Calista to conduct an investigation of certain personnel claims.
The Board of Calista acted after it was informed that a lawsuit had been filed in Superior Court in Anchorage called Emily Davenport v. Matthew Nicolai, Case No. 3AN-9812 CI. The lawsuit alleges acts of harassment in the workplace upon the plaintiff by the defendant. Ms. Davenport, the plaintiff, is the President of Solstice Advertising, LLC, a subsidiary of Calista. Ms. Davenport is currently on administrative leave unconnected to her complaint and an acting President of Solstice Advertising has been appointed by the Solstice Board.
The allegations have not yet been proven to be true, and Mr. Nicolai has not yet filed his answer. Neither Calista nor Solstice Advertising, LLC are currently parties to this lawsuit.
Calista and Solstice have personnel policies that prohibit harassment in the workplace, and Calista’s Board and executive management wishes to reaffirm our commitment to providing a harassment free workplace.
Consistent with our Calista and Solstice Personnel Policies, Calista will conduct an independent third party investigation into the facts of this matter.
As announced on Monday August 30, The Calista Board of Directors has appointed Andrew Guy acting President and CEO of the corporation effective immediately.
The Calista Board of Directors and executive management has responded promptly to this matter and will continue to act to protect the interests of Calista and the shareholders of Calista.
